Walker County Deputy Sheriff W. D. (Darrell) White

Walker County Deputy Sheriff W. D. (Darrell) White (later Walker County Sheriff), seen here in the fall of 1966 at the piano in J. B. Jones home. The Jones home was built ca. 1886 and burned down in December 1966 in a spectacular fire. The Jones home was reportedly one of the first Huntsville homes to be designed by an architect and was built on the southeast corner of Avenue N and 10th Street on the present day location (2003) of United States Post Office (see entries 17, 19-22, 151).
